In 2013, my son Christopher Kyrollis Gillebaard (CK) and I went to Ethiopia on a mission trip. This was both impactful on my son as well as the children we served while we there. "Mom," my son said. "Thank you for bringing me on this mission. Can we do it again?"
Growing up in Egypt I struggled with having access to a good education to achieve my dream. I was blessed enough to come to the United States and attend school here. Now I want to provide the same opportunities to children back home (Egypt). I witnessed families preventing girls, specifically, from going to school and getting a proper education. But even young boys had to work to support their family and were unable to get a good education.
The primary mission of the CKing Education Foundation is to provide high-level education for those who are not able to attend school in Egypt. We work with the local supervisors in the poorest areas of Egypt, to find those students registered for school but are not attending. We then work to find a location and staff to establish an alternative educational opportunity. Our foundation pays for staffing, transportation, school supplies, and regular training to help break the poverty cycle.
Please help us support impoverished children in Egypt receive an education to help them improve their standard of living. Your contribution will go towards providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
